La Closerie de Camensac / Second de Camensac / Joli Pin
Closerie de Camensac
The concept of a second wine became widespread in the 1970s.
Acquiring a château’s second wine is a way of bringing some of the magic of a great growth into your cellar at an affordable price, with the possibility of enjoying it at a younger age.
Benefiting from the same care as Château de Camensac, it is blended from carefully selected batches, specifically for the second wine, in accordance with its identity. Soft tannins, ripe fruit, elegance, and always excellent value!

The style of Camensac’s wines is explained by the geographical location and the micro-climate, with mild winters and hot summers but which is also oceanic, favouring healthy growth and well-ripened grapes, combined with a deep gravel terroir, brought by the river (Villafranchian gravel as in Pessac-Léognan and Gunzian gravel as in the St Julien appellation).

(power, complexity, etc.)
Château de Camensac’s second wine is predominantly Merlot, subtly complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon.
The fruit is highlighted and offers an elegant aromatic palette.
When young, the wine develops a crisp density that becomes patinated with a beautiful complexity as the years pass.
